Point of Attachment Installation

The electrical Point of Attachment (commonly called a POA) on your home refers to the bracket which holds your aerial mains wires which come from the street power pole, to the point where it connects to your consumer mains via your mains box. Our Point of Attachment Installation service is commonly mounted on the eve or roof of your home in close proximity to your electrical switchboard or fuse box. The Point of Attachment is an important device as it is required to hold many kilograms of tension from the weight of your aerial mains cables, and do so in a safe manner. At True Local Electricians we see many Point of Attachment Installations which have failed over time and resulted in your power lines coming down and a loss of power to your home. If you have suddenly lost power we recommend checking your Point of Attachment Installation and consumer mains connection for any damage. In emergency scenarios True Local Electricians provide 24hr emergency service to Sydney and the Sutherland Shire for all Point of Attachment Repairs and replacements.

Point of Attachment Repair

Point of Attachments over time can become defective as they age and are subject to rusting, sagging and damage by trees and storms. Most of the time we at True Local Electricians are performing Point of Attachment Repairs it is due to residential households receiving a level 2 defect notice from their distributor. There are 4 Electricity distributors in Sydney – Ausgrid, Endeavour, Tansgrid & Vector. Commonly, without warning electrical inspectors may sight your defective Point of Attachment and write a Defect Report to the home owner which give them 21 days to repair any electrical defects. The report will often refer to your Point of Attachment Installation being in faulty condition and requiring a ASP Level 2 Electrician in Sydney to fix the issue and lodge a NOSW rectification report. We ensure that  all Point of Attachment Repair services comply with the most recent service rules which include the cables being at lease 3 meters from the ground or a balcony.

The ‘D’ rated POA brackets are also suitable for any service line pulling on the bracket at an angle of greater than 45° to the perpendicular. There are two mounting style brackets available, rafter bracket or fascia bracket. The rafter POA brackets are designed to be fixed to rafters behind a fascia board and flashed around penetration through roofing material. The fascia style brackets is fixed to the fascia under the gutter. These premium quality POA brackets are available in a variety of sizes; ranging from 300-900mm high
